Asansol Durgapur Development Authority(ADDA)

The Asansol Durgapur Development Authority, a Statutory Body of the Government of West Bengal is the pioneer of the industrial, infrastructural and development activities in the region spreading from Panagarh in the East to Barakar in the west covering a total area of 1615.90 sq. km., since 1979. Empowered by mineral resources, connectivity, dynamic institutional framework and a skilled labour force due to the very high population (30 lakhs) of the region, ADDA provides a secure planned development within the Asansol Durgapur Planning Area (ADPA). It has helped ADPA to emerge as an important urban industrial centre of the state of West Bengal.

Presently, ADDA is busy giving shape to a vision of growth and prosperity with proper education and health management system, working as a host of industrial estates, growth centres, industrial & residential townships and innumerable opportunities. Emphasise is also given on the development of infrastructure for schools, educational institutes, Guest Houses, amusement park, etc.

Out of the 60 cities in the nation, Asansol Durgapur Region takes pride for being endowed the task to execute and monitor the progress of Central Sponsored Schemes of JnNURM within the Asansol Durgapur Area.Moreover in order to deal with the rehabilitation program for Fire and Subsidence prone area of the region ADDA acts as the State Level Agency for the implementation of the Master Plan dealing with fire, subsidence & rehabilitation in Raniganj Coalfield Area under the lease hold of Eastern Coalfields Limited.

ADDA integrates its considerable resources with down-to-earth experience to plan and systematically improve and build the economic and social environment of communities in the rural and urban areas of Asansol and Durgapur Region.
